Janghang Site, Gadeokdo

Changhang8 was a male individual from the Janghang Site (獐項遺跡) on Gadeokdo Island, Busan, South Korea, dated to 6,300 BP. His paternal lineage is recorded as D‑CTS10441 (within D‑M55). No maternal lineage is recorded here for this individual.

The Janghang Site is a major Jeulmun-period cemetery: 48 human individuals were excavated there, while 17 were suitable for scientific analysis. The site also yielded personal ornaments made from Japanese jade. A mitochondrial haplogroup H, which is also found in some West Eurasian maternal lineages, was reported among the analysable remains from the site; it is not assigned here to Changhang8.
